Dr. Shikyil Sadiq Sylvester SAN, Dean Faculty of Law, University of Jos, paid a courtesy visit to the proposed Pen Resource University, Gombe.
On a courtesy visit, Dr. Sani Jauro, the promoter of the proposed Pen Resource University Gombe, received the Dean of Faculty of Law from the University of Jos, Prof. Shikyil Sadiq Sylvester.
Sylvester is a Professor of Law and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). He is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Jos.
The professor was at the proposed PRU to see the level of readiness of the proposed varsity for the takeoff. Prof.
Sylvester, who attained his primary education in Gombe, appreciated the opportunity given to him to go round the proposed university. He added that “the facilities of the university are of a high standard, and the proposed university is ready for takeoff.” I am very proud to see such great efforts and commitment to educational development taking place in Gombe, where I grew up. I will stop at nothing to see that the university, and especially the Faculty of Law, has attained the level of distinction that the Proprietors set for it.
The law professor commended the setup of the faculty of law at the university.
“I have cited during the tour of the facilities that almost 95% of what is required to set up the faculty is already on the ground; the classrooms are big enough and of the standard prescribed by the NUC’s basic academic standard. The offices, the Moot Court, and the Law Library, including the functional e-library section, are well equipped. I can clearly see a transfer of high standards upscaled from the proprietor’s experience in Pen Resource Academy Gombe to the upcoming Pen Resource University, Gombe. The professor said that this university has a very promising future.
He promised to be on the ground to offer guidance on the smooth running of the Faculty of Law at the university.
Others that joined the promoter to welcome the professor were the director of academic planning (designate), Dr. Sani Isiyaka, and the director of ICT (designate), Mal. Umar Zubair.
